Biggest challenge over the next 3-6 months:
Looking for more work/life balance, Becky took advantage of the perfect opportunity to change roles following a recent Hyperion system conversion. The transition from a financial systems management role which required many on-call nights, to one where she was more in control of her schedule, was a perfect move. “We are live following the HFM implementation, but we’ve only replicated what we were doing before. Our challenge going forward is transforming the system to reflect how we internally analyze our businesses. The system was built to do more and my role will be to leverage those capabilities.”
Exciting things happening at Pentair:
Pentair is transforming from a regional-based structure to Global Business Unit Reporting to reflect the company’s global growth initiatives. The company has also entered into a transaction with GE Water and Process Technologies to form a company focused on residential filtration solutions for customers.
Professional accomplishments of note:
Becky was in public accounting for two years when she was outsourced to a large law firm in town. The project was unique in that the firm was implementing a new retirement plan service provider for $50M in assets across three current plans. “I worked with the attorneys on a complete redesign as well as the transfer of assets – even helping them with their own retirement accounts. I thought it was fun to get that kind of advisory experience so new in my career, especially since I had never had a 401(k) deferral from my own paycheck!”
Favorite free-time activity:
A barbeque aficionado, Becky enjoys grilling and golfing with her husband, Rob, as well as spending time with their English Setter, Wrigley (a wedding present named after their honeymoon destination, Wrigley Field).
Favorite book:
Becky swears by the Weber Big Book of Grilling as well as Stress Management for Dummies – a book she credits for “changing her life.”
3 things to do with lottery winnings:
“I would buy a new house, build an outdoor kitchen, and throw a spectacular party for friends and family!”
Best vacation:
A lover of all things Italian, Becky has fond memories of traveling throughout Italy enjoying the good food, wine, and people.
Something that would surprise people:
“I went skydiving in Las Vegas a few years ago. Between the pilot, the two instructors, and another jumper, I was the most sober!”
Motto Becky lives by:
“Life is short, I’m not.”
Obstacles in life:
Learning how to resolve conflicts at work and home has been an area where Becky is always looking to improve. “I grew up in a household where alternate opinions were not respected and learned absolutely no negotiation skills. I am really proud of how far I’ve come in this area!”
What FEWnet has meant to me:
“I have really enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people. FEWnet has taught me how big (and small) this town is!”
